I’m a writer, editor, and designer all about creating experiences and connections.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University, with a major in Mass Communications and a minor in African American Studies. Since then, I have had several articles published in Virginia and nationwide.

In October 2019, I co-founded my own publication, Rum//mage, a submission-based literary and art zine. I most recently worked for the Virginia Department of Health as a web and social media specialist, where I facilitated online communications efforts for multiple offices within the agency; most notably the COVID-19 communications response team.

Outside of the realm of journalism, I’ve expanded my communications skills to include web development, graphic design, photography, and video editing. I’m hoping my obsession with media will inspire me to continue learning all things digital. My most recent ventures have been getting acquainted with motion design, user experience and interface design, and computer science.

I enjoy taking a break from my digital life when I can, reveling in moments spent collecting endless houseplants, crafting,  and raising backyard chickens.
